Basic Game Plan

I was inspired by a beautiful young lady I saw on a new I found today. healthystride.blogspot.com

So, here is my game plan and I have to stick to this no matter what! I encourage any and all to join my new healthy adventure.

No more excuses, no more wasted time and no more soda pop!

Lots more energy to play with my kids!

Basic Plan:

30 minutes of cardio 5 days a week

3 mile walk (weather permitting) 5 days a week

30 minutes strength training 5 days a week

Motto:

Think about each day as it comes, hour by hour. Don't think

about tomorrow.

ENJOY THE JOURNEY!

Wow, my will power is so weak. Exercise isn't the hard part. Infact I have been enjoying that part of this. ( except for the muscles just above my knees are so sore from all the lunges). I do reallly well with the calories until dinner time. I just fix or grap whatever is easiest at the moment in the midst of all the homework and activities. I need to find some really good healthy recipes to get more motivated at dinner time.

Have you ever been body slammed by a toddler as you are in the middle of a set of crunches. Let's just say that it makes it a rather tough workout. My funny little girl wanted to wrestle in the middle of my work out yesterday. I guess I can chalk it up to a few extra calories burned while laughing so hard and having fun. Best kind of exercise.

I found some easy ways on the web this morning to sneek in so extra exercises.

-Wake up, do ten push-ups & 10 sit ups

-10 butt squeezes while doing laundry.

-10 lunges while waiting for that pot of water to boil.

-10 overhead presses while puting those cans of soup away.

-10 heel lifts while standing in checkout line.

-10 jumping jacks during commercial.

-10 kicks and 10 knee lifts after your favorite show is over.

-carry those few bags to your car instead of push them in the cart.

-park further away so you have to walk a bit.

-take the stairs.

-vacuuming

-washing the floor by hand is a better work out than using the mop.

-sweeping the deck off

-doing squats while washing walls.

-walking while talking on the phone.

-wiggle those feet or bounce those knees while watching favorite show.

Even the smallest of movements can bring big results!
